We strive to ensure that every client feels that they are “home” when they walk into their space.

For you parents of school-age children, as the song goes, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year.” The hustle and bustle of summer is past, and the house seems to breathe a sigh of relief. Resolutions are made to make this year more organized. Even those of you who are without children, or empty nesters, may feel the need to declutter and refresh during the transition from summer to fall.

A good old-fashioned top to bottom general cleaning is a great place to start. Rid the house of cobwebs, dust, and tracked-in sand. Don’t forget those light fixtures and plants! Touch up nicked mouldings and door-frames with fresh paint. Take advantage of the nice autumn breeze by opening the windows to dry freshly cleaned carpets. Replace wire coat hangers with the sturdier variety designed to hold heavier jackets and coats.

In the kitchen, clear cabinets. Plastic pool dishes, cups, and BBQ accessories that have gradually taken over, need to be stored in the basement or in a difficult-to-reach cabinet.

In the bedroom, vacume and turn the mattress. Donate to a charity, articles and clothing not worn or used this year. Remember the thought that, if it does not have a function, if it is not beautiful, or if you do not love it, get rid of it.

In the bathroom, dispose of sticky soaps and dated cosmetics. Refresh with new towels in warm, rich colours.

When you are finished, you will be ready to decorate your clean, uncluttered space for fall.
